3 quick tips to make your pet's visit to the vet a little easier!

Madelein, our new Animal Health Technician! Is not only a qualified AHT but has 10 years of puppy training experience. We asked her for a few quick tips to make your pet's visit to the vet a little easier and less stressful. These tips are not only for puppies and kittens, but apply to dogs and cats of all ages and life stage.
Positive Reinforcement Training.
Get your pet accustomed to handling and examination by
regularly touching their paws, ears, and mouth. Reward them with treats and
praise during these sessions. This will make the vet's examination less
stressful for your pet.
Before heading to the vet, engage your pet in calming
activities such as playing with their favourite toy or going for a short walk.
This can help reduce nervousness and make the visit more manageable.
Arrive Early.
Arrive at the vet clinic a few minutes early to allow your pet to acclimatise to the surroundings and smells. This will give them a chance to relax before the examination begins, making the overall experience less stressful.
Familiarise your pet with the Carrier.
Make the carrier or crate a comfortable and familiar space
for your pet by leaving it open at home with treats inside. This will help
reduce anxiety associated with the pet being transported. Use a calming product such as Pet Remedy® Calming Spray.
