Meet Dr Rozanne Buitendach

DR ROZANNE BUITENDACH

(BSC) HONS (BVSC)

I graduated from the University of Pretoria (Onderstepoort) in 2016 followed by a year of community service at Bochum, Limpopo. Here, I worked extensively on large animals, such as, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses and game. My time and expertise was also dedicated to the public health sector by working in abattoirs, where I was responsible for ensuring health regulations and the humane handling of animals were being adhered to.

After my community service, I went on to work in a mixed animal practice based in Nelspruit but soon realized that despite my love for the bush, I actually loved the ocean more and wanted to move to Durban. The move however, coincided with the Covid outbreak and resulted in me needing to locum for 3 years. Fortunately, this involved working at multiple veterinary practices in and around Kwa-Zulu Natal.

I joined Westville Veterinary Hospital in January 2023 with a keen interest in small animal surgery and medicine, and plan to further advance my skill and knowledge in this area of veterinary science.
