'My pet has been injured in a motor vehicle accident! What should I do?'

Here are some tips in case you find yourself in this situation.   New puppies and older dogs are the most likely to get run over in their own driveways. Puppies, because they haven't developed street sense yet, and older dogs because they may not be able to move out of the way as fast as they used to, or may be losing their sight or hearing and may not realize they need to move.   Take extra time to check around your vehicle before pulling off, or fence off your driveway. Unsterilized dogs and cats are more likely to roam in search of a mate. Spay and neuter your pets! Keep cats indoors at night as this is when they are most likely to roam.
